The Head Start program is currently taking resumes to fill the Mental Health Program Specialist position in the Central
Office. This position is responsible for monitoring all activities within the assigned centers throughout a 20-
county area to ensure all phases of the program are in compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, Agency
policies and procedures, DECAL regulations and other applicable local, state and federal regulations.

Interested persons must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social work education, school counseling, mental
health counseling or psychology and have experience working with pre-school children, provide intervention strategies
and coordinate services/contracts with Mental Health professionals. Previous administrative experience, the
ability to supervise, plan and organize effectively, establish community partnerships, and communicate
professionally both orally and in writing. The position requires travel throughout the 20-county service area and
overnight travel.
