Head Start

Ninth District Opportunity's Head Start program has been recognized by the National Head Start Association as a "Program of Excellence", the highest award for quality with only 21 of the nation's 2,600 programs earning this distinction.  In addition, 19 centers are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children as a high quality program.  Although Georgia does not require Head Start centers to be licensed, the program has voluntarily licensed 26 centers.
